| Journey to Maleah's Sibling |
1/4/2008Heartsent gave us the news that our dossier was logged in on (LID) 8/6/2007. So this is the date in which we will need to know which batch of referrals from CCAA that ours will be in. Though with the recent trends in dossier processing, we are still many years away from seeing a referral... )-: 8/1/2007Well we are DTC (Dossier To China) as of August 1st! So all of the pre-adopt paperwork, approval and the like is all done and is on its way to China!
So from here the next thing we will get is a LID (Log In Date) from CCAA ( China Center For Adoption Affairs) This tells us that they have received our Dossier and we are in the system to be processed.
So as of Today:
The CCAA has finished the review of the adoption application documents registered with their office before June 30, 2006.
The CCAA has finished the placement of children for the families whose adoption application documents were registered with their office before November 14, 2005.
So in 4-6 weeks we will get our LID.
From there we wait for a referral. Some Un-official stats can be found here. So they are looking at the last 2 week average wait time from DTC to referral to be 582 Days, so thats sometime in March of 2009!
7/19/2007
Yeah, the last piece of the dossier that we need to submit the Dossier to China! So we need to find out where the other couple is in their paper chase to see how close they are to us and send off our Dossiers together so we can travel together.
So we are close(er)....

7/9/2007Thursday and Friday we had fingerprints taken from the local CIS/INS Application Support center.
So hopefully soon we will get our permission to adopt an unknown orphan letter (I-171-H) and we can send that and the rest of our documents over to China! Wahoo! 6/23/2007We received our request to have our fingerprints take at CIS. We are Scheduled to go anytime between 7/3 and 7/7
Added Timeline to home page.
Shows what we've done so far in the Process. 6/18/2007
So with the HomeStudy off to CIS, we should hear back from them in about 2 weeks for our Fingerprints.
Since all of our other paperwork for China is in, Heartsent is getting all of that stuff notarized by the state so when the I-171H comes in we are good to go on sending in the Dossier.
Not 100% sure hot this will affect us yet, but they said that we are in the same timeline as one other couple from the LA Area. So that means we would travel with one other family. So that way there shouldn’t be any space issues if we wanted to have Maleah with us when we go over to China. Though there might be some extra costs associated with the in country facilitator.
6/1/2007
So we have the last of the Documents that are required of us before the final two CIS docs.
So off they will go in tomorrow's mail. Now we wait for CIS to invite us to get our Fed Fingerprints. Then once we are cleared from the Feds CIS should issue us a I-171H form. This allows us to adopt a unknown foreign child. Though the form is only good for like 18 months. So by the time China gets around to our paperwork the form will expire and we’ll have to renew it. )-: Hopefully we don’t have to give them all the info again and get the Prints don’t again. Still need to check into the renewal process.
Closer and closer to DTC!!!! 5/29/2007It looks like the county is giving Jennifer the run around on who can and will sign the employment verification form. Managers dont seem to want to get involved and have given it to payroll to deal with. Payroll needs anohter form filled out to allow informaiton to be given to a notary to have them see the information on the Employment Verification form.
On a good note, it looks like there only needs to be one of us to get the Police Clearance Letter stating that we are not wanted for anything and that we haven't dont anything in the past. So Hopfully I can get that done on Friday... 5/24/2007On our way out of Town we went to FexEx/Kinkos to get our photos taken. Though their passport photo taker camera was on the blink. So off to the post office to get the Photos.
So while at the USPS we mailed off a large batch of docs.
So now we have Jen's Employment Verification and The Police Clearance then we wait for CIS...
